Dance piece created and performed by Blue Pieta commissioned by the Courtauld Insitute of Fine Art for Courtauld Late events and as part of the MA exhibition 'Good Morning Midnight' in May and July 2024

A solo performance exploring transformation, aching and love combining dance, song and poetry responding to the artworks in the exhibition by Susan Meiselas, Anthony Cudhany and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and the novel Good Morning Midnight by Jean Rhys.

Combining choral music with Tehrani singing Tahir the performance tells the story of a woman in a cafe. She remembers past intimacy which is no longer possible in her current state of loneliness. She is possessed by an ancestral force which awakens the memories of horror and desire she associates with receiving touch. Purged of these feelings a bird teaches her how to receive love.
